Luvari Pricing Record

Luvari pricing record: October 2026

Posted October 16, 2026. This is our first pricing record, and our starting point. It lists the jewelers and products we compared, when we checked them, and where our prices sat against theirs. Later records will report what has changed since the one before. A record is not edited after it is posted; if we find an error, we post a dated correction.

How we made this record. This is our first record. Matching rings across jewelers is harder than it looks: many don't publish a band width or the weight of their side stones, and some price a setting differently by shape or metal. Where a detail wasn't published, we made a judgment from the jeweler's description and photos, marked the comparison as unconfirmed, and showed our results with and without those rings. Some of those judgments will turn out to be wrong. When we find one, we post a dated correction and say whether it changed a result. Each record will cover more of our pieces, with better evidence, than the one before. If you see something we got wrong, tell us.

About these prices. Each competitor price is what that jeweler's website showed on the date we checked it, at its everyday price. Jewelers change their prices often, up and down, so some of these have likely changed since. That is why we record the date of every check. We check again before each quarterly review.

What this record covers. 3,320 of our own prices, as of October 15, 2026: 735 engagement rings, 2,064 wedding bands and 521 earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings. Each metal and gold colour of each design counts as one price, because every ring size (and, for necklaces and bracelets, every chain length) shares that price. These prices are held until our next review on January 15, 2027, unless gold or platinum moves sharply (as set out on our pricing page) or we correct an error; any change before then is posted as a dated note. From October 15, 2026, if we lower the price of a piece, recent buyers are refunded the difference automatically, as set out in promise 5 on our pricing page. Our review dates are January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 15. Custom and semi-custom pieces are quoted individually and are not in this record.

  • Lab grown diamond engagement rings: of our 52 lab grown diamond designs (counting each center size separately), 23 had a comparable ring at three or more jewelers once we left out rings that differed too much in style, band construction, center shape, band width or side-stone weight, and had a center diamond at or above the grade we compared against. Of the other 29, 25 had fewer than three comparable rings, and 4 are left out because the center diamond stated on their product page is below the comparison grade (see "Lab grown designs left out on their diamond's grade" below). Counted cautiously, leaving out unconfirmed rings priced above us but keeping every unconfirmed ring priced below us, 22 designs qualify (4 with none below us, 16 with one, 2 with two). Counting only comparisons where every detail was confirmed, 19 designs qualify (8, 9 and 2); that is a smaller set, not a stricter test, because it also leaves out some unconfirmed rings priced below us (on Andromeda, Anna, Sophia and Zoe).

"Typical" is the middle value across that jeweler's counted comparisons. Not every jeweler had a comparable ring for every design, so the jewelers were compared on different numbers of designs.

  • Natural diamond engagement rings: the 12 designs with a center stone of 1 carat or more, each compared with the closest matching complete ring at six jewelers (five for Astra), each with its own diamond of the same size and grade. Our four natural designs with smaller center stones (Flora and Lattice, 0.25 carat; Ripple, 0.06 carat; Cascade, 0.5 carat) are not in this comparison: at those sizes we did not find enough comparable natural rings at these jewelers. They will be compared in the next record.
  • Moissanite engagement rings: no position is reported in this record; the comparison will be listed in the next one.
  • Gemstone engagement rings: no position is reported. We found too few comparable rings.
  • Plain wedding bands: the six combinations in chart 2 (14K gold at 4 to 8 mm and platinum at 6 mm, mid-weight, domed comfort fit). In all six, at most one seller was priced lower. Other widths, weights and metals will be added in the next record.
  • Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings: on the three lab grown diamond earrings charted, no more than two jewelers were priced below us. Most sterling silver and gold-filled pieces under about $150 are priced at about the typical delivered price of similar pieces. Where we found one comparable piece or none, we generally kept the price we had.

Every ring we compared

Download every comparison. Download the full comparison as a spreadsheet (CSV, 328 rows). It lists every comparison behind the results published in this record (it is not the full set of about 4,800 prices we track): our piece and price, the jeweler and product (with a link to its page where we have one), its price and the date we checked it, whether the comparison passed our matching rules (natural rows are marked provisional until the January check, and rings for designs with too few comparisons are marked not assessed), whether the design had enough comparisons to be in the published result, and why not where a ring or a design was left out. It also includes the rings we left out, so you can see what did not count and why.

Some of our designs share the same comparison because they differ only in ways the jewelers' rings do not (May and Nora; Emma and Mia at 1 and 2 carats; Clara and Nova); each is counted, so our 23 lab grown designs rest on 19 distinct sets of comparisons. For an engagement ring we priced the jeweler's setting in 14K white gold with that jeweler's own diamond of the same shape, size and grade, except Grown Brilliance, which sells complete rings. VRAI sells 14K gold only in rose gold. With Clarity shows a crossed-out price on everything all year; we count the price it actually charges. Prices are listed low to high; Luvari's price is as of October 15, 2026.

Natural diamond engagement rings, 14K gold

Settings and diamonds read October 14, 2026. Each complete ring is the jeweler's closest matching setting with the lowest-priced diamond it listed that day meeting all of these: the same shape, about the same carat, GIA certified, D to F color, VS1 to VVS2 clarity, the jeweler's top cut grade (rounds), excellent polish and symmetry, and no or faint fluorescence where the jeweler shows it. Everyday prices; where a diamond showed a markdown that day, we use its price before the markdown.

Dawn in detail (settings and diamonds read October 14, 2026). Checked against the same matching rules as our lab grown rings: all six are single pavé bands within the band-width and side-stone limits of Dawn's 1.7 mm band and 0.32 ct of pavé. Frank Darling does not publish its pavé weight, so that row is unconfirmed. Blue Nile's head is a pavé crown, a detail rather than a different style.

Lab grown designs left out on their diamond's grade. We compared every lab grown ring against other jewelers' diamonds of D to F color, VS1 clarity or better, IGI or GIA certified. Four of our designs state a center diamond below that on their product page, so comparing them with those rings would flatter our price. They are left out of this record: Haven and Briar (0.5 ct round; E to F color, VS clarity, no grading certificate stated), Jade (1 ct radiant; D to I color, IF to SI1 clarity) and Eleanor (1 ct oval bezel; D to F color, VS clarity, certified, where VS may include VS2). Briar's twisted rope band would also leave it out under our band construction rule. Their comparisons stay in the spreadsheet, marked as not in the result. In the January 2027 record we will either compare them with diamonds of the same grade or confirm that their stones meet the standard.

Lab grown designs not counted. These had fewer than three comparable rings once we left out rings that differed too much: Cameo and Cascade (0.5 ct round pavé), Grace (1 ct marquise, wide band), Aria (1 ct marquise three-stone), Amelia (1 ct radiant three-stone), Eve (1.5 ct cushion, wide band), Ruby (2 ct emerald, wide band), Ava (2 ct round bezel), Leah (2 ct emerald bezel), Astra (2 ct radiant pavé), Carina (1 ct radiant pavé) and Luna (1 ct cushion halo), plus the designs where we found fewer than three to begin with.

The four rings in chart 1 are the May (and Nora), Emma 1 ct, Polaris and Zoe rows above.

What we compared

As of October 2026 the comparison holds about 4,800 publicly listed prices: some 2,100 engagement ring settings, about 900 wedding bands and complete rings, about 1,200 certified diamonds and about 620 earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings. On October 14 we also read about 310 sale terms, settings and diamonds for the sale check and the natural ring comparison.

What this first record does not yet cover

This is our first record, and some of it is not yet as complete as we want:

  • Lab grown designs with fewer than three comparisons. 25 of our 52 lab grown designs had fewer than three comparable rings and are not in the result, most of them small-center rings (0.5 carat and under) that few of these jewelers sell. They are named in this record; we will keep looking for comparable rings.
  • Our own diamond grades. Four lab grown designs (Haven, Briar, Jade and Eleanor) state a center diamond below the grade we compared against and are left out until they can be compared with diamonds of the same grade. Our product pages do not yet state cut, polish, symmetry or fluorescence for our center diamonds.
  • Natural diamond rings. Eleven of the twelve comparisons have not yet been checked against the same matching rules as our lab grown rings (style, center shape, band width and side-stone weight); Dawn's has.
  • Wedding bands. Six combinations are listed; other widths, weights and metals are not yet.
  • Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings. Three earrings are charted; the rest are not yet listed.
  • Moissanite and gemstone rings. Not yet listed.
  • Check dates. Most comparisons give a date range for when we checked them, not a single date for each one.
  • Links and evidence. The spreadsheet links to the jeweler's product page for every comparison charted on our pricing page and for 133 of its 328 rows in all. The remaining rows are named but not yet linked, and no row yet carries a certificate number or a dated screenshot of the price we saw.

Each of these will be added in the January 2027 record, and that record will report what changed.

We checked wedding band prices at 17 other sellers and did not use them, because the band was not comparable or the seller was a marketplace or warehouse club. For earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings we also recorded prices at four other sellers for reference and did not count them.

How we checked them. We recorded the price each jeweler charged on an ordinary day; sale events are not counted. On October 14 we checked what the offers at eight engagement ring jewelers covered, by reading their terms and, where an offer could apply, putting a ring and diamond in the cart. Blue Nile, Brilliant Earth, Frank Darling, Grown Brilliance and VRAI had no sale that lowered the price of an engagement ring (Blue Nile's sale that day, "Up to 30% off select jewelry", excluded build-your-own engagement rings and loose diamonds; several offered a gift with purchase instead). Ritani took 2% off select natural diamonds, plus 3% more with a code. Clean Origin offered 20% off a first order to new email and text subscribers, with natural diamonds excluded: its 1 carat round lab grown solitaire came to $1,160 in the cart and would have been $928 with the code. With Clarity's banner read "up to 25% off all categories" (its home page listed up to 25% off lab grown and up to 15% off natural diamonds); it marked down some settings and lab grown diamonds and listed a $50 code on orders over $1,000.

Next. A short note on the holiday season in early December 2026, including what we find when we check sale prices before and during Black Friday. The next full record follows the January 15, 2027 review. It will report how many of our prices went up, went down or stayed the same since this one, and why, and it will add our four smaller natural rings to the comparison.
