How Luvari prices its jewelry
Every Luvari piece has one everyday price. We set it by comparing the piece with the same kind of piece at established online jewelers wherever we can find one. For wedding bands and lab grown diamond rings we aim below most of them; for natural diamond rings, where the diamond is most of the price, ours sit nearer the middle of the range on our 1 carat rings and above most jewelers on our two 2 carat rings; for entry sterling silver and gold-filled pieces we aim at about the typical price. Then we hold the price until our next review.
In short
- One everyday price. No sales, codes or crossed-out prices. Today's prices hold until our next review on January 15, 2027, unless gold or platinum moves sharply (see "When a price can change between reviews") or we correct an error.
- Where we sit, October 2026, everyday prices.
| What we compared | Compared | At most one other jeweler priced lower | At most two priced lower |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lab grown diamond engagement rings, 14K gold | 23 of our 52 designs (19 distinct sets of comparisons) | 21 | 23 |
| The same, counted cautiously: unconfirmed rings kept only where priced below us | 22 designs | 20 | 22 |
| Plain wedding bands, mid-weight | 6 combinations of metal and width | 6 | 6 |
- Natural diamond rings sit nearer the middle of the range on our 1 carat rings, and above most jewelers on our two 2 carat rings (see "Natural diamond rings" below). They will join this table in January 2027, once they have been checked against the same matching rules as our lab grown rings.
- Price protection. If we lower a price, you get the difference automatically: every order since our last review, and every piece shipped in the last 60 days (see promise 5).
- Check our work. The pricing record lists every comparison behind these numbers, by jeweler and product, with the date we checked it. This is our first record. Where a jeweler doesn't publish a detail, we use our judgment and mark it; we correct mistakes in dated notes.
Our five pricing promises
-
One price, every day.
We do not run sales events, promo codes or crossed-out prices.
-
One price for every ring size.
The largest size we make costs the same as the smallest.
-
A price you can check.
Every ring page states the metal, the band width, and the weight and grade of the stones, so you can compare it with any other ring on the same terms.
-
Prices set to hold.
We review prices on fixed dates: January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 15. Today's prices are held from October 15, 2026 until January 15, 2027. Between reviews a price changes only if gold or platinum moves sharply (see below), to correct an error, or when we set the first price of a new piece. Every change between reviews is posted as a dated note in our pricing record.
-
Price protection: if we lower a price after you order.
If we lower a piece's price, at a review or in between, you get the difference automatically if either of these is true:
- you ordered it on or after our last review date before the change (for a change on January 15, 2027, that means any order from October 15, 2026); or
- your piece shipped within the 60 days before the change.
You do not need to ask. We refund the difference, plus the sales tax you paid on it, to your original payment method, and email you when we do. If you paid over time, the refund goes to the lender and reduces what you owe; your lender's own terms apply to any interest already paid. This applies to orders placed from October 15, 2026. It does not cover custom or semi-custom pieces (see "Custom and semi-custom pieces").
When a price can change between reviews. We check the published spot prices of gold and platinum, in US dollars, against their level on the date of our last review. If a metal's average over the last 10 business days is 10% or more above or below that level, we may review the prices of pieces made in that metal. Pieces in other metals don't change. Any change is posted as a dated note in the pricing record, and if a price goes down, price protection applies.
New pieces. We add new pieces between reviews. A new piece's first price is set the same way as every other price and holds until the next review, just as if it had been in our catalog since the start of the quarter. Price protection covers it from the day it launches.
Our prices include
- Price protection. If we lower the price of a piece after you order it, we refund the difference, plus the sales tax you paid on it, automatically: for every order since our last review date, and for any piece shipped in the last 60 days. If our prices go up, the price you paid stands. You don't need to wait in case we lower a price. Other jewelers' offers can still be lower, so compare.
- Free expedited shipping on every US order, with a signature required.
- The piece as described. Every piece is made to the standard stated on its page: the metal, the band width, and the weight and grade of the stones. Each signature engagement ring, and every custom and semi-custom piece, is cast to the exact measurements of its diamond.
- 45-day returns and exchanges. Return or exchange a piece free within 45 days of shipment, including exchanging a ring for a different size. Engraved pieces carry a $20 restoration fee; custom pieces are final sale.
- Your first resize, free. Within 45 days of shipment, on resizable styles, with shipping paid both ways.
- Cleaning and polishing for life. You send us your ring (at your cost); we clean and polish it at no charge and ship it back free.
- A limited lifetime warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship; we repair or replace at no charge.
- People who answer. Non-commissioned jewelry experts, by phone and email.
Lifetime resizing after the first 45 days is a quoted service, not part of the price. We resize resizable rings for life; because every resize is different, we quote the cost before any work, and you are welcome to compare our quote with any jeweler's. You pay to send the ring to us, and we ship it back free.

About these prices. Each competitor price is what that jeweler's website showed on the date we checked it, at its everyday price. Jewelers change their prices often, up and down, so some of these have likely changed since. That is why we record the date of every check. We check again before each quarterly review. See which rings we compared and when.
Each jeweler's ring was matched to ours under the rules in "How close is close enough" and priced with that jeweler's own diamond of the same size and grade. Where a jeweler does not publish a band width or side-stone weight, the record marks that ring as unconfirmed.
How we set a price
We compare like with like. For each piece we find the same kind of piece at established online jewelers and match it on the things that decide its price:
- the style, and whether the stone is held by prongs or a bezel
- the center stone's shape, carat weight, color, clarity and certificate
- the metal and karat
- the band width
- the total weight of the side stones
- how the band is built: a twisted, intertwined, double or split band is not compared with a single band
A thin solitaire is compared with thin solitaires, and a 2 carat ring with 2 carat rings. For an engagement ring we compare the complete ring, setting plus stone, because that is what you buy.
How close is close enough. We leave a jeweler's ring out if any of these is true:
- its center stone is a different shape, or its style is different (prongs against a bezel, or a solitaire against a halo or three-stone ring);
- its band is built differently: a twisted, intertwined, double or split band is not compared with a single band (a wavy single band still counts as one band);
- its band is more than half as wide again as ours, or less than half as wide (a 2 mm band is compared with bands from 1 mm to 3 mm);
- our ring is a wide-band design (a band of 4 mm or more) and theirs is a petite or thin band;
- its side stones weigh more than half as much again as ours, or less than half as much, unless the two differ by less than 0.10 carat in total. That exception matters on very light settings: a ring with 0.04 carat of side stones is compared with rings carrying less than 0.14 carat.
- we could not find the ring again on the jeweler's site when we re-checked it, so we cannot show it exists;
- its side stones are set differently: a continuous pavé or channel-set band is not compared with separate accent stones. We match side stones on their total weight and how they are set, not on the cut of each small stone, so a round pavé band can be compared with a baguette band of similar weight.
Where a jeweler does not publish a band width or side-stone weight, we judge it from the jeweler's product description and photos. If the ring passes, we count it, mark it as unconfirmed in the record, and report our results both with and without those rings.
We use everyday prices. We record the price a jeweler charges on an ordinary day. Sale events and promo codes are left out, so a temporary markdown elsewhere does not set our price. Where a jeweler shows a crossed-out price on everything all year, we count the price it actually charges. During a sale event, or with a code, some of these jewelers will be priced below us on some pieces.
We aim for the lower end of the range, not the bottom. On the six wedding bands charted below, our price was below every seller on two, and on the other four it sat in the lower two-fifths of the range from the lowest comparable price to the highest (October 2026). We do not chase the single lowest price online.
We keep checking. As of October 2026 our comparison holds about 4,800 publicly listed prices at 33 online jewelers and sellers. We re-check them before each quarterly review. We also keep looking for better comparisons: when we find a closer match for one of our pieces, we add it, and the record notes the change.
We publish the record. Every quarter we post a dated pricing record: the jewelers and products we compared, when we checked them, and where our prices sat. Each record after the first also reports how many of our prices went up, went down or stayed the same, and why. A record is never edited after it is posted; if we find an error, we correct it and post a dated correction.
Latest record: Luvari pricing record: October 2026 All pricing records
Custom and semi-custom pieces. Custom and semi-custom pieces are quoted individually and are not covered by these pricing promises or comparisons. Semi-custom means one of our designs changed to order, for example with a different center stone than we offer, a design change, or a size or width we don't list. Choosing from the options on a product page (metal, color, ring size, center stone, engraving) is not semi-custom; those pieces are covered. We price custom work with the same approach: we look at comparable pieces where they exist.
Engagement rings
Lab grown diamond rings. In October 2026 we compared our lab grown diamond engagement rings in 14K gold with the closest matching complete ring at up to six online jewelers each, leaving out any ring that differed too much in style, center shape, band width or side-stone weight. 23 of our 52 lab grown designs had a comparable ring at three or more jewelers and a center diamond at or above the grade we compared against. On 21 of the 23, no more than one jeweler was priced below us, and on 5 of them none was. On the other two, two jewelers were. Some comparisons rest on a detail we could not confirm, such as a band width the jeweler does not publish. Counting cautiously, leaving out those rings where they are priced above us but keeping every one priced below us, 22 designs qualify, and on 20 of them no more than one jeweler was priced below us. Most of the jewelers we compared were priced above us. Two were closest. With Clarity was typically about 18% below us, and where any jeweler was priced below us it was always With Clarity: it was below us on all 18 of those designs, and the only one below us on 16. With Clarity shows a crossed-out price on everything all year, and when we checked on October 14 it was advertising up to 25% off; we count the price it actually charges. Clean Origin was typically within a few percent of us, and below us on 2 designs. Four of our designs whose center diamond is stated at a lower grade than the one we compared against are left out until we can compare them with diamonds of the same grade; the record names them.
Natural diamond rings. In October 2026 we compared our 12 natural diamond engagement rings with a center stone of 1 carat or more against the closest matching complete ring at up to six online jewelers, each with its own diamond of the same size and grade. In 14K gold, on 9 of the 12 no more than two of the jewelers compared were priced below us, and on one of those none was. On one ring, three were. On our two 2 carat rings, four were. As an example, Dawn, a 1 carat natural round diamond on a pavé band, is $5,800 in 14K gold: about level with the lowest-priced of the six jewelers we compared (Brilliant Earth, $10 more) and $53 to $1,297 less than the other five. Dawn is our best-placed natural ring; the table in the record shows all twelve. The other natural comparisons have not yet been checked against the same matching rules as our lab grown rings; that check will be in the January 2027 record. Dawn's has: all six rings pass, and one jeweler (Frank Darling) does not publish its pavé weight. Our four natural designs with smaller center stones are not yet in this comparison; they will be in the next record.
What drives the price of an engagement ring
Three things explain most of the difference between two prices: the metal, how much of it there is, and the stones. The figures below are prices we recorded at established online jewelers in late September and October 2026.
| What changes | What it does to the price | Recorded |
|---|---|---|
| Lab grown or natural diamond, 1 carat round | Natural about $4,200 to $5,100. Lab grown about $320 to $600. At one jeweler selling both, natural was about 9 times the lab grown price. | Oct 6 to 14, 2026 |
| Setting or stone | On a natural diamond ring the diamond is usually more than half the price. On a lab grown diamond ring the split varies widely from jeweler to jeweler. | Oct 14, 2026 |
| 1 carat or 2 carat, lab grown round | A 2 carat stone was about 2 to 3 times the price of a 1 carat. | Oct 6, 2026 |
| 1 carat or 2 carat, natural round | A 2 carat stone was more than 5 times the price of a 1 carat. | Oct 6, 2026 |
| 14K or 18K gold | 18K cost more than 14K for the same setting; the typical difference by jeweler ran from about $115 to $630. | Sep 29, 2026 |
| 18K gold or platinum | At seven of the eight jewelers we checked, platinum was priced above 18K on 99% of the settings we compared (1,848 of 1,868), typically by $100 to $300. The eighth priced platinum slightly below 18K. | Sep 29, 2026 |
| Band width and thickness | A wider or thicker band holds more gold, so it costs more. | General rule |
| Side stones | More total carat weight in the band or halo raises the price of the setting. | General rule |
The diamond figures are for certified stones of high color and clarity: D to F color, VS1 clarity or better. Lower grades cost less.
How to compare two rings fairly. Check that they match on metal and karat, band width, side-stone weight, and the center stone's shape, carat, color, clarity and certificate. Then check what comes with the price: the return window, resizing and the warranty. Two rings that look alike in a photo often differ on one of these.
Wedding bands
In October 2026 we compared our classic plain domed comfort-fit bands, mid-weight, in six combinations of metal and width with comparable bands at three to five online sellers each. In all six, at most one seller was priced lower; on two, none was.

Each seller's band was matched to ours on metal, width, profile and thickness, and priced at ring size 10.
What drives the price of a wedding band
A band's price is mostly its metal. Width and thickness together decide how much gold or platinum is in it, which is why every Luvari band lists both. The figures are our own prices as of October 15, 2026.
| What changes | What it does to the price |
|---|---|
| Width | In 14K gold, mid-weight, a wider band costs more: $745 at 4 mm, $1,150 at 6 mm, $1,750 at 8 mm. |
| Thickness | The same 6 mm band in 14K gold is $990 lightweight (1.4 mm thick), $1,150 mid-weight (1.6 mm) and $1,490 heavyweight (1.8 mm). |
| Metal | The same 6 mm mid-weight band is $1,150 in 14K gold, $1,650 in 18K gold and $1,750 in platinum. |
| Ring size | Nothing. Every size is the same price. Several of the sellers we checked charge more for larger sizes. |
Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings
In October 2026 we compared our earrings, necklaces, bracelets and fashion rings with comparable pieces, where we found them, at up to seven online jewelers each. We matched each piece on the metal and karat; the size, weight, shape and origin of its stones; the chain length (18 inches for a necklace, 7 inches for a bracelet); and whether earrings are priced as a pair.
How the price is set. Where four or more jewelers sold a comparable piece, we aim, where we can, for a price with about a quarter of their prices below it; some pieces, such as our 4 mm studs, sit higher. Where we found two or three, we stay between the lowest price and the typical one. Where we found one or none, we generally kept the price we had.
Sterling silver and gold-filled pieces. Most of these, under about $150, are priced at about the typical price you would pay for a similar piece at the online jewelers that sell them, delivered. Some of those jewelers charge $5 to $9 shipping below their free-shipping minimum; we ship every US order free, so we compare what you actually pay.
Plain gold pieces. Two hoops that look alike can hold very different amounts of gold. Our solid gold hoops list their weight in grams, so you can compare by weight as well as by size.

Questions and answers
Do you ever have sales?
No. Each piece has one everyday price, with no sales events, promo codes or crossed-out prices. The price does not move for a season or a holiday. Up to twice a year, on set dates, we include a gift with orders over a stated amount; the prices stay the same (see "Do you do anything for the holidays?").
Should I wait for a sale somewhere else?
It depends on the jeweler and the ring. On October 14, 2026 we checked what eight online jewelers' offers covered. Five had no sale that lowered the price of an engagement ring. One took up to 5% off a few natural diamonds. One marked down some settings and lab grown diamonds and offered $50 off orders over $1,000. One offered 20% off a first order to new email or text subscribers, with natural diamonds excluded; with that code it came in below us on rings where it had been above. An example from that day, on a 1 carat round lab grown solitaire in 14K white gold (ours is $1,150): that jeweler's matching ring came to $1,160 in the cart ($30 less than when we charted it). With its 20% first-order code it would have been $928, which is $222 less than ours. Another jeweler's banner read "Up to 30% off select jewelry", but its terms excluded build-your-own engagement rings and loose diamonds.
So waiting can save money at some jewelers on some rings. Our price is the same whichever day you buy, and if we ever lower it after you order, you get the difference (promise 5). We will check sale prices again before and during Black Friday and publish what we find in our December note.
Is there a Luvari discount code or welcome code?
No. We do not offer discount, welcome or promo codes. We do not work with coupon or discount-code websites; any code they list for Luvari is not from us.
Do you do anything for the holidays?
Sometimes, and it is never a price cut. Up to twice a year, for set dates, we include gifts with orders over stated amounts. Everyone gets the same offer, and what you buy costs the same as on any other day.
Does a larger ring size cost more?
No. Each ring has one price for every size we make it in.
Will the price change after I look at it?
Prices hold until the next review date. Between reviews a price changes only if gold or platinum moves sharply (see "When a price can change between reviews"), to correct an error, or for a new piece's first price, and every change is posted with its date. If we lower the price of a piece you ordered, you get the difference (promise 5).
If you lower a price, how do I get the difference?
Automatically. We refund the difference, plus the sales tax you paid on it, to your original payment method, and email you when we do. If you paid over time, the refund goes to the lender and reduces what you owe. Promise 5 sets out who is covered.
Can I pay over time?
Yes. You can pay over time at checkout. Our price is the same either way; any interest or fees are set by the lender.
Is sales tax included?
No. Our prices do not include sales tax. Where it applies, it is calculated at checkout from your delivery address.
How do I know a Luvari price is fair?
Compare it. Every ring page lists the metal, band width, and stone weights and grades. Match those against any other jeweler's ring, then compare the whole offer: the price, the return window, resizing and the warranty. Our pricing record shows the comparisons we made.
Why is platinum priced above 18K gold?
Platinum is naturally white, needs no plating, is heavier than gold and is used at 95% purity. At seven of the eight jewelers we checked, it was priced above 18K gold on 99% of the settings we compared (1,848 of 1,868; September 29, 2026).
Why does a lab grown diamond cost so much less than a natural one?
They are priced in different markets. In October 2026 a 1 carat round natural diamond of high grade retailed for about $4,200 to $5,100, and a lab grown diamond of the same size and grade for about $320 to $600.
Why does Luvari not show a "was" price?
Because there isn't one. Each piece has one price.
Do you match other jewelers' prices?
No. We do not negotiate or match prices. We do the comparing before we set the price, and we publish how.
Are custom pieces covered?
Custom and semi-custom pieces are quoted individually and are not covered by these promises. Choosing from the options on a product page (metal, color, ring size, center stone, engraving) is not semi-custom; those pieces are covered.
Which diamond will I get?
A diamond that meets the carat, color and clarity stated on the ring's page, with its GIA or IGI certificate where the page says the stone is certified. If you would rather choose the exact stone, we will go through the options with you online. A different stone can change the price and add a little time. On our signature engagement rings, and on all custom and semi-custom work, we rebuild the casting files around the exact measurements of your diamond, so the setting is made for its stone, not the other way round.
What does the price include?
See "Our prices include" above: price protection, free expedited shipping, 45-day returns and exchanges, your first resize free within 45 days, lifetime cleaning and polishing, and a limited lifetime warranty. Each piece is made to order, and its estimated ship date is shown on the product page.
Where can I check your prices against others?
In our quarterly pricing record. It lists every comparison behind our numbers, by jeweler and product, with the date we checked it, and you can download the full comparison as a spreadsheet, so you or an assistant can run your own comparison.
Did you find something we got wrong?
Tell us using the form in the pricing record or by email at orders@luvari.com. We review every submission before our next review and report what we changed.
